General Admission Policies
Term Start
Students may begin their studies at HTIC at the start of any term.
Application Deadlines
Materials must be submitted by the appropriate deadline (International and U.S. deadlines).
Review Process
All applications will be reviewed and evaluated as promptly as possible.
Enrollment Policies
Admissions Notification & Enrollment Intent
Decision Notification: Applicants are informed after review.
Intent to Enroll: Accepted students must submit the Intent to Enroll Form by the date specified in their acceptance letter.
Deferral Policy: Admissions may be deferred for up to one calendar year (four consecutive terms).
After one year, students must reapply with a new, complete application and fees.
International Students
Form I-20: Issued to accepted students for F-1 visa application.
Early Application Encouraged: Visa processing may take several months.
Visa Issuance: Determined solely by U.S. Consulate/Embassy.
Post-Visa Steps: Arrange travel to Hawai‘i and prepare for enrollment.
Pre-Registration Requirements (after acceptance)
1. Transcripts
At the time of application, upload a copy of your high school transcript.
Upon acceptance, submit the official final transcript through your institution.
U.S. transcripts must be sent directly from the school to HTIC at:

Note:
International transcripts can be submitted with your other documents.
Make sure the GPA is on a 4.0 scale.
If transcripts are unavailable: provide a certificate showing completion of high school education with minimum GPA: 2.5 (for both freshmen and transfers)
2. Health Documentation
Health Immunization Clearance Form (signed by U.S. U.S.-licensed medical practitioner)
Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance (issued within 12 months prior to program start)
Immunization Record:
TDAP – 1 dose
MMR – 2 doses
Varicella – 2 doses
MCV – 1 dose at age 16+ (required for on-campus housing)
3. Proof of Health Insurance
Must cover the entire term of enrollment (overseas/student travel insurance accepted)

4. Tuition Deposit
Non-refundable $100 deposit applied toward first-term tuition.
5. Orientation & Registration
Once all documents are submitted, students receive orientation and course registration details.

Credit Eligibility
AP & IB Credits:
Accepted if equivalent HTIC course exists.
Requirements:
AP final grade "C" or higher
AP exam score ≥ 3
College/University Credits:
From accredited U.S. or foreign institutions.
Requirements:
Course grade "C" or higher
Syllabus may be requested
Early submission encouraged for timely processing.
