Position: Shuttle Driver

The Shuttle Driver provides support services to the Dormitory Manager/Shuttle Supervisor by transporting HTIC students and its affiliates around the designated stops within the Kapolei area. The Shuttle Driver serves as a positive role model to students, while ensuring the safety and security of his/her passengers and enforcing the state and federal rules and regulations of transporting passengers and other HTIC related rules and regulations. The Shuttle Driver should constantly communicate with the Dormitory Manager/Shuttle Supervisor on a daily basis.

Essential Functions: Drive HTIC designated vehicles to and from designated locations within the Kapolei area. Inspect and able to provide basic vehicle maintenance services (i./e. top of fluids as needed – oil, radiator fluids, brake fluids, and water). Able to provide customer service to passengers in answering questions or directing them to the appropriate people. Able to provide coverage in other designated routes, when either the other shuttle driver or the Dormitory Manager/Shuttle Supervisor is unavailable.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Dormitory Manager/Shuttle Supervisor.

Minimum qualifications: Able to communicate well in a group or individual setting; able to establish good rapport with various groups of people. Able to address basic problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Able to prioritize what he/she should do during an emergency.Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with a diverse group of students.

CPR, First Aid, & AED certified.

Able to drive an 8-passenger vehicle and up to a 15-passenger vehicle.

Able to sit for long periods (i.e. at least 1 hour)

Willing to drive within Kapolei

Able to work various shifts and have a flexible schedule (to include weekends).

Pass a state of Hawaii Driver’s license check.

Pass a criminal background check (that is non-vehicle related).
